SUNTRAP SOLAR HOT WATER SOLUTIONS
Feedback on our products
(1) I purchased a Suntrap Solar hot water system several months ago (315L 32 tubes) and I just wanted to pass on the following..... I contacted you and during our conversations you told me that the system "should" supply most of our hot water needs for our house which has 3 persons regularly staying here. Well it has far exceeded this and has, for the past 6 weeks supplied ALL of our hot water needs with no electric backup connected!! This has been an experiment to see how efficient the system can be and boy have I been supprised! Last week we had family come and stay with us and we had 5 persons showering and some heavy washing up and we still didn't need to turn the boost on!! I have been extremely impressed with the system and and have no complaints whatsoever. I feel I may have to turn the power on if the rain keeps up but I will see if I can get away with it. (GM Frenchs Forest - October 2009)
(2) Just wanted to pass on the comments from our plumber for you. He has installed many hot water systems, solar, panels, tubes, and says your system is the best that he's installed. It's easy and the way it works is really good and the best he's seen. I know a lot of installation is personal preference but I thought I'd pass on the comments anyhow! (Viva Living Homes - October 2009)
(3) As a testimonial to your product, since the day you installed your product, the main switch to the booster element is off at the switchboard, and even during the cloudy days, and we have had three in a row - still off. Well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can put that on your website. I expect to turn the booster on around May maybe next year for a top up. (AW Villawood - December 2009)
(4) We have now installed the Suntrap solar system at our house at Byron Bay, and it is working very well. We have not had need so far (in late autumn) to turn on the electric boost - even on overcast days the water has been easily hot enough not to need boosting. We have had several solar systems previously, but this evacuated tube system looks as though it is going to be a big step forward to what we have experienced previously in efficiency (PP Byron Bay - May 2010)
(5) It is absolutely brilliant. We got a Suntrap ST-315-32 installed in Jan 2010, and we did not switch on the booster at all since our system installed. Everyone had a shower in the evening and there was hot water left the next day (PT Marayong - May 2010)
(6) When my old off peak hot water system failed I did some lengthy research into solar hot water and decided to give the people at Suntrap a call. After speaking with them and learning about their systems, I purchased a ST-315-48. We are a family of five with reasonably high usage, however we never seem to run out of hot water. This product works extremely well and is very efficient. To give an indication before we switched to this system our off peak electric bill was approximately $50.00 per quarter. Last quarter our off peak bill came in at $12.00, $3.00 of which was a service charge. That is close to a 75% saving, which not ony helps the hip pocket, but is also good for the environment. This is truly a quality product, and is by far the next generation in solar hot water. Keep up the good work guys. (JM Castle Hill NSW - May 2010)
(7) We purchased two Suntap solar hot water systems with LPG backup last year. They have worked just great, keeping our big household in plentiful hot water year round. Gas use is rare except after a run of overcast days. Suntrap people were really helpful with some special installation requirements we had. When a minor glitch appeared later, the warranty service was prompt. We would be pleased to do business with these people again. (P & S Ingleburn, NSW - May 2010)
(8) Thought I would let you know our feelings about our Suntrap Solar Water Heater. Installed Jan. '10 and has since performed faultlessly! It has provided hot water at a temperature which is adequate for all our domestic uses without it being so hot that you run the risk of being scalded - important if you have grandchildren visiting! Roof installation is unobtrusive and plumbing to existing pipes etc. caused little problem. Recirculating pump operates virtually silently. Have had to run electric booster for a few hours only following 3-4 damp and cloudy days and a house full of visitors. We are very satisfied and would confidently recommend your product to anyone. (BL Vincentia NSW - May 2010)
(9) Had to write and let you know the Suntrap solar hot water system you installed some months ago has been working fantastically. I turned off the electric off-peak boost supply the day you installed the system and have yet to turn it back on!!! Our household of 3 adults (sometimes 4) has never run out of hot water since - and I mean HOT water!! Plus all the rebates came through with no hassles. Thanks guys for helping me cut my electricity costs and hopefully at the same time do a little to help the environment. (CA Galston NSW - May 2010)
(10) Some feedback for you. After spending quite some time researching solar hot water services. We were very happy with both the initial contact & subsequent follow up service. The quoted price was competitive compared to similar systems. Installation was carried out quickly & expertly by the recommended installers. The system works equally as well as our old electric system, & we are benefiting from vastly reduced electric bills. Very Happy Customers. (AK Werrington Downs NSW - May 2010)
(11) Our system has been installed for just over a month now. For the first 2 weeks it was running from an extension lead as our electrician was too busy to do the install for us. This meant we did not have the booster connected at all. The install was finished at about 3pm on a rainy day and that night I had a shower and the water was luke warm which was a damn sight warmer than I expected. It has been hot ever since and we have had a lot of cloud cover in North Queensland due to monsoon activity. Even though the system has now been connected by the electrician I have not switched the circuit breaker on to the booster and actually don't intend to. I suspect within the next 60 days I will get a call from Ergon checking why our tariff 31 meter has not shown any power consumption. I will gleefully tell them it is becouse we have a very effiecient solar hot water system.
When our system arrived one glass tube had been broken in transport, when I contacted Suntrap I expected some delay while a replacement tube was organised, maybe even questions over who was responsible etc. To be asked to open the other box and find spare tubes included made me feel I had made the right choice which was very gratifying as when you buy something over the internet, no matter how much research you have done there is always an element of risk as you are located somewhere, the supplier somewhere a long way away, if things go wrong what will they say etc. Thank you for your service, emails I sent were replied to within 24 hrs, you found a plumber to do the install for me in my town when my ringing around to plumbers had achieved no response. Your price was very competetive, your warranty better than anything I was offered locally and looking up at my roof now I am so glad I did not go with the traditional roof mounted tank system that I was originally after. I could not be happier with both the system and your service, I wish you all the best in your business. I am happy for potential Suntrap customers in Townsville to either see the system installed or ask me about it. (MS Kirwan QLD - December 2010)
(12) Just to let you know, we lost 4 trees during cyclone Yasi, our pergola was half crushed by one, our pool plumbing smashed by another, our TV antenna is broken and our security camera system seems to have stopped electrically, not sure why. During this whole episode I was more than aware of the multitude of glass tubes we have on our roof as part of our Suntrap Hot water system. I will not be requiring any glass tubes as all have survived without damage. Although we were without power for 3 days, our family of 5 (husband, wife and 3 daughters) managed showers without a problem and having cleared the branch debris from the roof I was still amazed that not a single tube was broken. I know Townsville was only within the Cat 3 area of cyclone Yasi but the damage to trees throughout the area was huge. Just lucky we purchased a good product I suppose, hope we don't ever have to go through a Cat 5 but at least I know the glass tubes aren't as flimsy as one could think. (MS Townsville QLD - February 2011)
(13) I am more than happy with the performance of the system, which works even in winter with sunny days, in fact we have not had to use the hot water electric booster except when there was prolonged overcast/wet weather during the middle of winter. We have experienced no problems with frosty conditions and estimate a saving around $300.00 per billing period based on previous electricity bills. If you factor the price rise in electricity since installation, the current actual saving may be up to $400.00 per period had we not changed to your system. I would like to express my thanks for your prompt attention to any enquiry that I have made both during the quotation period and after installation. Your customer service is second to none. It is gratifying to speak to such obliging people who are easy to understand. I would recommend this system to any prospective purchaser as a trouble free and economical solution to providing reliable hot water year round. (PB Coolah - NSW January 2012)
